You wouldn’t be caught dead in one, even when Joe Meteorologist virtually guarantees afternoon showers. But when those drops actually start to fall, by golly, you’ll be the first to grab one from the closet. To make them more palatable, they now come in a variety of colors, from subdued to vibrant, accommodate a variety of body sizes and style perspectives, and wear sporty labels like Nike and Columbia.

From seeing bison in Custer State Park, to listening to a Cornhuskers game across the entire state of Nebraska, to drinking rum runners in Key West, road trips always provide for memorable experiences and stories to tell. Over the past ten years I’ve had the opportunity to be my own tour guide on trips to nearly all of the lower 48 states in rides including a bad-ass Ford F-350 U-Haul, a “freighted” Mitsubishi Galant, a Honda Civic without air conditioning, and most recently, a 2006 Kia Rio5.

Like the larger Spectra, the Rio is offered in both sedan and five-door hatchback Rio5 body styles. The sedan comes in base and LX grades, with the LX adding standard amenities like air conditioning and available options including power windows, mirrors, and door locks and four-wheel antilock disc brakes at a very reasonable cost. There is only one grade of hatchback, SX, which is equivalent to the LX sedan. All models share a common drivetrain, a 1.6-liter, 110-horsepower four-cylinder twincam engine with variable valve timing matched to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

If you have been looking around my site you are probably aware of the fact that I really like the 2006 line up from Kia Motors, and the granddaddy of the line is the 2006 Amanti. Now before you say anything negative….cuz I know you are thinking that of Korean made Kia Motors, let me be the first to tell you how awesome this car really is.

First off, let me tell you that I bought my wife a 2004 Kia Sedona mini van, and we love it. Yes, I bought it originally because it was so cheap, but we have really fallen in love with it. It is loaded to the hilt and a third of the price of its competition. So, the 2006 Amanti – a mini van it is NOT, far from it actually. This car is Kia’s luxury sedan and a luxury car it is.

Kia présente son prochain monospace compact sous la forme dun faux concept car. Celui-ci reprend les éléments clefs de la star du segment lOpel Zafira 2 : un toit en verre en 2 parties avec rangements intégrés au milieu, une modularité poussées des sièges qui libèrent un plancher plat et un design élancé. Lensemble parait très bien étudié et fini, ce qui pourrait faire très mal aux joyeux larrons européens du segment comme lOpel Zafira, donc, le Renault Scénic, le VW Touran et autre Citroën Picasso si Kia lui applique sa politique de prix très compétitive. Tout comme la nouvelle Rio, ce véhicule témoigne de la réelle volonté du constructeur coréen de simplanter durablement en Europe, ceci est aussi souligné par la motorisation 2.0l Diesel dont le Multi-S concept dispose. Etant donné le degré daboutissement de ce faux concept car, il est fort à parier que le véhicule de série devrait apparaître dans moins dun an environ. Le péril jaune (Japon, Corée et Chine) va bientôt commencer sur notre vieux continent

The 2005 Kia Sorento added another feather to its cap when the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) in the United States named it the "Best SUV Value" at their annual Mudfest competition.

The award, decided by 20 members of the automotive press in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, is Sorento’s third Mudfest honour in three years. The Sorento was named "Best SUV Value" and "Best SUV Under $25,000" at the 2002 competition.

"We are very pleased with the Sorento’s major accomplishments and are honoured to receive this award from the Northwest Automotive Press Association," said Peter M. Butterfield, president and CEO, Kia Motors America (KMA).

This baby runs great and has low miles. This is the 6 cylinder 3.5 ltre engine. It has an AT, AC, PW, PDL, Cruise, Tilt, PB, Driver and Passenger Airbags, and a nice stereo. It also has tinted glass, a rear window defroster, map light, variable intermittent wipers and has only 66500 miles on it, and it is straight. The Yakima Box in the pictures can be purchased with the vehicle or without, for an additional $300.
